Address book backup

Need to make a backup of your iVisit Address Book > People or Places? Here is how on either your PC or your Mac!

It is possible to make a backup of your iVisit data. You might want this for various reasons:

• You are about to re-install your computer
• You want to transfer your iVisit to a different computer
• You simply want to make a backup to CD, Drive or folder.

All iVisit data is stored inside the iVisit folder so it's easy to locate and backup. Browse to the iVisit Program folder on your local hard drive and inside the iVisit Data folder you will find the folder named 'com'. This is the folder that contains all of your AV and text messages, People, Shortcuts and received files, for each Username that you have on that computer.

• PC users: C:\Program Files\iVisit\iVisit Data\com
• Mac users: /iVisit/

To make a backup just copy this folder to any location you want. If you want to transfer it to another computer or to restore your iVisit after a re-install make sure you download and install iVisit first, then put the backed up "Safe" copy of the 'com' folder back inside the iVisit Data folder.

You could copy the iVisit folder as a whole, including the application but this is not recommended as a clean install creates the proper preference files and receipt packages.

Note: During the backup or restoration process make sure iVisit is not running.
