Benefits:

Secure

The iVisit Client Server operates securely over your own private LAN, WAN, or VPN. Only users with access to your private domain can communicate with other users on your server. Authentication is based on Kerberos-like tickets, using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption.

Affordable

Low per-user cost allows companies to empower all their employees with iVisit unified communication and collaboration tools. iVisit Client Servers are easy to setup and can be installed on most existing computer systems, so there's rarely any hardware to purchase. They are also easy to operate by non-IT professionals.

Versatile

Run all iVisit software clients including Presenter, Mobile, and Desktop from your own private and secure server. Empower employees to host or attend an online meeting from anywhere, collaborate in real-time, or manage a remote workforce. Local Area Networks can host up to 16-person meetings. The iVisit Client Server is cross platform and can be installed on Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems.

Efficient

iVisit's audio and video transport is built on the fast and efficient UDP protocol. Client's bandwidth requirements automatically adjust based on camera, lighting, movement, and video-window size to optimize bandwidth use.

Server Requirements:

Operates on:

  • Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP/Vista/NT 4.0 (SP3)/Windows 7
  • Mac OSX 10.2 and above (PowerPC and Intel)
  • Linux - Redhat, Solaris (other builds possible)

Base System Requirements:

  • Windows: Pentium 90 MHz, 16 MB RAM
  • Mac: PowerPC OR Intel Processor, 20MB free RAM
  • Linux: Pentium 90 MHz, 16 MB RAM

System Demands:

  • 2-3% CPU - runs as Windows background service
  • 0.06k/sec/user bandwidth load

Connection:

Ideally, a 128K ISDN or faster connection is best if offering open Internet access. If running your server in-house/LAN only, then no Internet connection is required.

Firewalls and Routers:

The server executes 3 processes that listen on UDP ports 9946, 9947, and 9948. If there is a firewall between the iVisit clients and the server, traffic to/from these UDP ports on the server must be allowed to pass. All client traffic will originate from UDP port 9940 (though it may be remapped by intervening NAT devices).
