Real time Multi Party Audio/Video Conferencing across PC’s, Mac’s and Mobile devices
iVisit offers multi-party Audio and Video conferencing over the Internet (IP). Depending on your bandwidth you can host 4-16 people conferences. Larger than 8 conferences are best achieved in a Local area network. iVisit supports windows, Mac’s and windows mobile PDA devices.
Secure authentication of users
The iVisit client and server will not allow any communication without strong authentication. The authentication scheme is based on Kerberos-like tickets, using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption. This is unlike email, which makes it very easy for a sender to masquerade as another user.
Hands free echo cancelation
iVisit offers built in echo suppression to improve the quality of your audio.
log on from anywhere
iVisit server controls the log on process so users can log on from any machine with their username and password without limitation to their license.
Meeting Rooms
Multi-party conferences occurs in meeting rooms. Up to 16 people (depending on bandwidth) meet simultaneously in iVisit conference rooms.
Presence
iVisit’s Presence technology makes it possible to recognize when users in your social network are online. Each user can control their availability. You can also indicate that you are offline and still get prompted when someone is trying to reach you.
Instant Messaging in public and private chat rooms
iVisit offers public and private chat rooms. Each chat room is presented and managed in its own window.
Sharing and collaboration
iVisit sharing includes presentations, applications and co-browsing. The presentation mode loads the presentation on each participant desktop for a faster and better experience. Additionally the presentation and user videos are managed by the application allowing the participants to easily view the presentation and navigate the participant videos in a separate pane.
Meeting Controls
iVisit offers remote control capabilities where any user can either extend or request control of the presenters desktop.
Additionally users can block a video and control the audio communication by using the Push to talk mode.
iVisit preloads presentations for maximum performance
iVisit presentations are pre-loaded on every participants desktop once connection is established allowing for instant navigation of presentation slides. Additionally each participant can now independently browse the presentation slides at will.
Local Audio/Video Controls
Each participant window offers a set of audio and video controls for both sending messages and controlling communication during meetings.
Automatic Speaker detection and remote video display
In Multi-Party conferences iVisit automatically detects and activates the speaker window over other participants. During presentations all videos are stacked and tabbed. Each user can navigate the participants in a room. The speaker will always automatically pop on top.
Flexible Video layout
iVisit supports 4 video sizes, thumbnail (80 x 60), small (160 x 120), medium (320 x 240) and large (640 x 480). You can easily choose the right size depending on your needs.
Smart bandwidth management to support participants with various bandwidths
iVisit is designed to be highly sensitive to the impact it may have on the other users and applications sharing the network. Unlike other real time audio/video applications that may blast away at whatever data rate you select, iVisit continually monitors network performance, and adjusts it's transmission rate accordingly.
This focus on being a good network citizen comes partly from the experience of iVisit developers in the early 90's, when a single user running a poorly configured application could saturate the entire link between Europe and the US, and there was discussion of banning this type of application entirely.
The iVisit server offers the administrator 4 main components
User Director Service (UDS)
Responsible for user authentication and identifying the Connection Initiation Manager (CIM) address of a given user.At install / configuration you supply a master admin account password; iVisit creates the first 'Super User' on the system 'Admin' which is then used to create all other types of account.Functions & abilities:

- - To broadcast a message to server, room or listing
- - To create a link/alias from one part of the CDS to another
- - To create CDS administrators
- - All the abilities of a CDS administrator
Connection Initiation Manager (CIM)
Responsible for maintaining awareness of the user's current IP address and online status, acts as middle-main for initiation of peer-to-peer connections, manages user messaging.
Community Directory Server (CDS)
Manages rooms, listings, and other means by which users make themselves visible to strangers. Created by UDS admin these users have full control of the user community directory and can manage subgroups within an organization.Functions & abilities:

Windows PC Client
Pentium 90 MHz, 16 MB RAM, and an Internet connection. iVisit is highly optimized to require very little processing allowing users to run other processing intensive applications while communicating from the same computer using iVisit.
MAC Client
PowerPC or Intel Processor, OSX 10.2 or greater, 20MB free RAM
Server Operating Systems
- Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, NT, XP , Vista
- Mac OSX 10.2

Connectivity requirements
- ISDN or Broadband
- Performance gracefully scales to available bandwidth
- Operates over most firewalls and NATs
- Requires UDP port 9940 to be open to secure bidirectional traffic to work with routers and over firewalls
Cameras
Works with most cameras, microphones and headsets. However cameras do effect the performance of video transfer and we recommend the following cameras for best performance.
- Logitech
