iVisit Tech Talk is offered by the iVisit staff. Email your question to iLites@iVisit.com to be responded to in the next edition of iLites.
This edition’s Tech Talk tips focus on some recent inquiries from Mac users.
Heads up to Mac users: Mac OS X users do NOT buy a Logitech pro 5000, it will NOT work, not even with Macam or IOXperts. if you already have this cam... it will not work. maybe Macam or IOXperts will develop drivers for this cam later, but it's doubtful. (We don’t know at this time if this cam works or doesn’t work in OS 9.)
The iSight cam has a standard built in driver, so it will always work. However there are times when you want to adjust the settings, this can not be done from within iVisit. For this they thought of iGlasses, it will enable you to adjust your cam settings live. iGlasses URL: http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iglasses/
Mac users can push the CTRL key to talk even when they are in other applications.
For example if your having a conversation on audio but your also working in Photoshop, you don’t have to switch back to iVisit, just press the CTRL key :)

I've been using iVisit longer than I can re-member. Five years ago, I met a guy named Joe on the program. We became friends really quickly, talking almost every day. Four years ago on August 1st, we decided to start dating as a long distance couple. He is from Omaha, Nebraska and I am from Toronto, Ontario. There are close to 16,000 miles between us, but iVisit made it possible for us to be together. Joe came to visit me in Canada for a week. While he was here, he proposed to me. We will be getting married once I am done with university, in another two years. Hopefully we will continue to be able to see each other every day using iVisit We would just like to thank you for bringing us together and keeping us together, since I am almost positive I would not have met my soul mate otherwise.
Miracles really do happen.
Thanks iVisit!! (signed) ChantieZ & Joe

Letter to the Editor:
Just a quick question. Just recently downloaded iVisit again. I used it for a long time and have it on my new Mac. How do I get back into the ADULT SECTION? Signed, Edward

Hello Edward! Please ask this question from one of the iVisit Helper Team in the iVisit Help Desk, next time you are online and iVisiting.

The Autumn

As every year the beautiful autumn is here. But the autumn is ONLY a season not an autumn of your life.
Especially older people think it’s a season of their life but that’s not right. Give them a chance to take part in our life, our customs and our habits. Give your mom, your dad or grandpa the chance to see and speak in real life video with you.
Think about a Christmas gift or even a gift to make their life a bit more interesting.
What about buying a cam (good average price $50) Click here for suggested webcams. You may also give an iVisit Plus account ($ 49.95) Click Upgrade to iVisit Plus to learn how.
You can show them your home, you can celebrate special events with them or they can connect to their friends all over the world.
Give this project a try. It's worth it, for the awareness of life.
Greetings
Bernie

How do you iVisit? Chuckles30 writes:
TI have been using iVisit since 2005. During this time I have met some wonderful people with whom I have met in real life as well and to this day we remain in contact mainly by using iVisit. I can’t think of a better way for friends and family to remain in touch. I like to see the new faces that hop aboard with using this program and learning about their life and culture. My main reason now for using iVisit is to stay in touch with some one I have met using this program and have recently met in life that has become a very special part of my life. It is a relationship that I only hope becomes stronger and more meaningful in the future. By using iVisit I am able to stay in touch and make the distance between us tolerable. Everyday I come on to find more people that I can interact with and build friendships with. This is a program I don’t foresee being without.
All the best to everyone! Chuckles30
How do you iVisit? Sergio writes:
I've used iVisit for about 3 years.
Great meetings, good new friends and a lot of the world! People from everywhere so I almost learn speak Italian :o) The best is that you don’t have to learn any other language because almost everybody talks English in the iVisit.
I have convinced my family around the world to be connected so we can talk with each other anytime. Mother in Brazil, brother in Canada, sister in France and we here in Switzerland. Hard to keep time zones synchronized but at least in contact almost every day. For some time we have been using another client to keep that working but we can never leave a message so the iVisit turn to be the only plausible option. I hope to enlarge the circle bringing some new friends to this platform so they can have so much fun as I am having.
Danke für alles und liebe Grüsse aus der Schweiz
