iVisit can be configured to automatically run and run in the background when you start your computer. This allows for easier logon and faster access to your iVisiting.
You can create multiple logon IVB files, one for each username to quickly launch between users, example Mom, Dad or other family member. |
Windows
STEP 1) Create an ivb (iVisit Bookmark) file.
Using NotePad or another Text Editor type the following;
s=1
domain=ivisit.net
user=your_username
pass=your_password
logon=y
background=y (set n to load in foreground)
Optional:
logon=i (checks to see if the person is already logged on)
join=path (i.e. join=ivisit.net/Friends/HomeName/ChatRoomName)
open_u=username.code or
call_u=username.code
wait=60 (or any time in seconds you set)
Save file e.g. iVisit_logon.IVB
Save as type "All files"
Encoding ANSI
The saved file should show the iVisit 'blue Orb' application icon
*Note: join= can also be join=home.Username.####/ChatRoomName OR
join=home.Username.####/ListingName

Mac OSX
STEP 1) Create an ivb (iVisit Bookmark) file.

in Plain text with the extension .ivb
TextEdit will try and add .txt as well - say No
The saved file should show the iVisit 'blue Orb' application icon

STEP 2). Set this file to run at startup
Drag the file you just created into;
C:\Documents and Settings\your_name\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
*(Or just save it into that folder in Step 1)
Reboot your PC
iVisit will login and run in the Systray
When an incoming call or message arrives an AV window will slide up
Click the window to take the call or reply to the message, ignore and it will go away. |
STEP 2) Set this file to run at startup
In Mac OSX open System Preferences/Accounts
Select your user name
Click Startup Items tab to the right
Click the + button at the bottom
Navigate to iVisit_logon.ivb (or whatever you called it) and select it |
STEP 3) Set iVisit to always run in the background
Open iVisit Settings/Preferences from the top menu bar
Under 'Personal Info' tab are your options
Always On
x Always remain running in background on close
x Always exit iVisit on close
x Choose whether to exit on each close
Select the first option then click OK to save your new preferences
(You can always override this and quit by right-clicking on the Systray iVisit icon and choosing Exit) |
STEP 3) Put iVisit in the background and take messages or calls
Click and hold down the iVisit 'blue Orb' application icon in the Dock
Select 'Hide' and all the windows will vanish
To reveal again, click the dock icon once |
