iVisit 4U! This is a quick start sheet to get you online easily.
Internet Connection Devices
Modem
Make sure firmware is up-to-date and all connections are clean and tight

Set to allow iVisit to use port 9940 for UDP if firewall option is used.

Ask network admin to open port 9940 for iVisit

Acquiring iVisit
Download and install the software from www.iVisit.com/download/select.html
Run iVisit by clicking the iVisit Globe icon on your desktop
Register by clicking "Account" and then selecting "Register" in the login box.
Activate Account by following the instructions in the E - mail reply you receive
(Here you will select your permanent nickname and changeable password)
Logon and begin your iVisit adventure
Preparing iVisit - Settings > Preferences:
Connection Management
Set Maximum Transmit and Maximum Receive to 120 / 120 for dialup and 500 / 500 for broadband . (Do not exceed this limit)
Audio
The two selector boxes show the device / drivers for your mic and speakers.
The black arrow / triangle at right edge opens each box to show other choices if available.
Start Mic at 200% and Speaker at 250%.
Full duplex must be selected for hands free and Echo suppression is recommended if using speakers with the hands free setting.
Mac OSX users will make adjustments in the Mac System Preferences > Sound > Input area.
Audio - VBR (44kbps ave) will give the best results with the highest quality Internet connections and ADPCM4 (32kbps) works under a wider set of conditions.Video
Selection box shows currently selected video driver and clicking arrow / triangle at right side will reveal other choices if available. The frame rate of some Cameras can be improved by placing a check box in front of Continuous capture.
Format -- be sure Resolution is set to 160 X 120
Compression encoding Quality (1 - 10) - The Quality setting gives better quality when set high and more speed when set low. This best set between 5 ~ 7. Avoid 9 or 10.
Chat
Font Type & Size - Choose the style and size to suit Display (Name, Date & Time) - Choose what you wish to see in front of each chat line.
Notification - Receive a warning beep for new chat after time limit you choose.Adjust Desktop
Grab the bottom right corner of the main window and move it to adjust how much you wish to show. iVisit Windows - If any of the choices below are not open, click " Tools " in main window and select from the list:
LocalAV • Address Book • Guest List • Chat Window
RemoteAV Windows (opened after connecting to someone in a room from the Address Book or Guest List)
