NOTES:
- Other applications running in the background may interfere with iVisit; other software that uses video or audio may not share this properly so for best results run iVisit before these others. If you are not sure what else is loading check the 'Start' folder.
- Some cameras perform poorly at night and at low light levels. In artificial light avoid being backlit or having a bright light source behind your head it will only disturb the image and slow the speed. Removing background moving detail (like another TV or a street) will also improve the fps (frames per second).
- Turning OFF camera features like Auto Exposure will also increase your frame rate - on broadband <> broadband users may expect 30fps.
- Video Codec Quality Setting - 10 is high detail but the slowest speed, 0 is fast but chunky and blurred. The default is 7 but depending on the quality and resolution of your camera you may be able to lower this to 4, 5 or 6 with little visible loss of quality and still get a rise in fps.
- 'Video disabled' is caused by one of two things;
- no camera driver installed
- something like NetMeeting grabbing video first
- Other software that uses video can also conflict with iVisit; check the 'Start' folder for applications running or press CTRL Alt Del and bring up the Task Manager. Only one application using video will run at a time and the first to run will have the image.
- "Woodpecker effect" - cutting in and out
- Raise Bandwidth caps: Settings > Preferences > Connection Management = 500/500
- Set higher quality audio Codec: Settings > Preferences > Audio = 44 VBR
- Turn On Full Duplex: Settings > Preferences > Audio menu
