This "Home" is owned and operated by iVisit, all other homes are
owned by Plus Subscribers. Members of the
iVisit Assistance Team work around the clock, to ensure that it is a
warm and friendly place to ask questions (Help Desk) or to get to know other
iVisitors by chatting in the Lounge, or the MeetingPoint. Also, the CyberSchool
is often offered in the Welcome Home, for folks to join in and follow some
informal lessons on using iVisit.
The iVisit Assistance Team makes every effort to ensure that this area is friendly and appropriate for everyone. Unfortunately, inappropriate or offensive behavior can happen. The following outlines the security rulings firmly enforced by iVisit.
Offensive Behavior effects
OFFENSE #1: Warning then Remove (15 minute time out)
OFFENSE #2: Warning then Ban 5 day
OFFENSE #3: Warning then Ban 60 day
Types of offense:
- Broadcasting audio in hands free mode music or voice.
- Non-communicative for more than 5 minutes despite all attempts
- Regulars who refuse to make room for newcomers despite being asked nicely
- Inappropriately dressed (shirtless/naked but not visibly showing)
- Obscene language and/or harassment of another present
- Flashing male/female genitalia (Private message the Adult Access URL)
- Anyone forging 'Helper' status - iVisit Tech Support/iVisit Helper/iVisit Assistance in banner or comment
Members of the iVisit Assistance Team and Welcome Moderators may preface their action with a gentle suggestion such as one of the following, when appropriate:
- Please do not broadcast audio, if you would like an audio test please use the private button.
- Please respect others and be appropriately dressed while in the Welcome Help area.
- If you are not in need of assistance, please enjoy exploring the other areas of iVisit.
- Would regular users please make room for some newcomers?
- We need space in the room for some newcomers please.
Following are some basic suggestions for dealing with Problems involving other users or offensive Behavior in iVisit’s Neighborhoods:
All Home Chat rooms outside of the Welcome Home are owned and operated by iVisit Plus subscribers.
- In your home
- In another home
- With a home name or comment in the Public directory that is;
- 'adult' in nature / inappropriately located
- hate / abusing / racist
- related to terrorism or other illegal activity
- None of the above
What to do?
- Apply the full range of iVisit Remove, Ban and Block features to Moderate your Home as you wish.
- Ask the Home owner/moderator to take action, ask if you can Moderate in that home, leave
- File a complaint report to iVisit Administration:- admin giving;
- your name
- your iVisit Username.#### (i.e. alicia.1234)
- the offending location i.e. ivisit.net/neighborhood_name/home_name
- the home comment
- the home owner (displayed at Bottom Left of Guest list window)
- the date/time you saw this
- any other details you think relevant including screen captures
- reason for the complaint
iVisit will not 'police' activity inside users’ private homes, nor does it resolve disputes between users on personal matters. These reports are for Public neighborhood 'street offences' only.
What iVisit will do in the case of 3 & 4?
- Treat your complaint seriously; where required we will co-operate with Police, FBI, Customs or other agencies, we will disclose iVisit server logs and other records if criminal proceedings occur (see Terms). You may be required to make formal statements and give evidence; any reports you make must be complete, accurate and will be taken as evidence.
- Investigate before taking action. iVisit will not act upon incomplete reports, nor without looking into the complaint further. When and where appropriate we will consult other parties concerned and seek a speedy and mutually agreeable solution.
- Delete, hide, edit or ban home 'aliases' that are in clear breach of the iVisit EULA without warning.
- NOTE: A subscribers permanent home cannot be deleted unless their account has been terminated; these bans apply to the 'alias' placement only (Show my home here)
- Ban repeat offenders from selected Neighborhoods; 'adult' offenders are banned from Education and Business areas permanently for example.
- Go to dispute resolution; if a user has made a 'bad' home name or comment as a 'joke' or by 'mistake' and has had their 'alias' removed from an area they wish to return to, then iVisit and the complainant will be willing to listen to an apology and take an assurance that it will not happen again. Users finding themselves in such a situation should email: - admin and we will resolve the matter.
- Terminate a user’s account for any major breach of the EULA, or repeated smaller breaches, without warning and without refund (see Terms and Privacy Policy).
- For legal reasons we may not disclose some information or action(s) taken; all communications between iVisit and a registered user are confidential. Your information will not be shared with other users, nor theirs with you unless/until it reaches the courts.
